A propos de la FISAE


Nous vous livrons la lettre électronique que nous avons reçue: nous nous refusons à traduire toute information en provenance des instances de la FISAE qui ne seraient pas traduites en français.
Dans les statuts de la FISAE (statuts élaborés en son temps et publiés par l'AFCEL) il est précisé que toutes les indications relatives au Congrès doivent être traduites de la langue originelle du pays qui reçoit en ANGLAIS, en FRANCAIS et en ALLEMAND. Or depuis quelques années et en particulier pour le Congrès de Pekin en 2008 et pour celui qui se prépare fin août à Istambul tous les textes sont uniquement en langue anglaise; c'est pourquoi tout en restant membre de la FISAE, l'AFCEL ne sera pas présente à ce 33eme congrès et n'enverra aucun représentant légal pour bien marquer sa désapprobation pour un tel procédé.

Dear President,

Our Association is known as Shanghai Fu Xian Zhai Exlibris Society which was founded in Shanghai, China in 1997.

During these years, Fu Xian Zhai Exlibris Society has already collected more than 10,000 exlibris works from artists all over the world. At present, we have 131 members in our association.

We have organized more than 70 exlibris exhibitions since 1997. On the other hand, we have published many books, too. A quarterly magazine “friends of exlibris” every season has been published as well since January 2007.

We have extensively contacted with exlibris artists and collectors all over the world. For the goal of contact and cooperation with other exlibris associations around world better and more convenient, hereby we formally apply for the qualification of the membership of FISAE. And we hope that “Shanghai Fu Xian Zhai Exlibris Society” will be accepted as a member of the FISAE in the delegates meeting of the 33th FISAE congress which will take place in Istanbul in August 2010.

Shanghai is a well-known international city with more than 20 million populations. There are many artists and collectors in Shanghai. It is very meaningful to strengthen the contact and cooperation between international exlibris associations, which helps us to continuously develop exlibris activities. Now, many international exlibris exhibitions are held here every year. Therefore, Shanghai is able to organize international exlibris exhibitions and conferences. We are confident that Shanghai Fu Xian Zhai Exlibris Society will further promote the development of exlibris. If our application were accepted, it would be a significant milestone for Shanghai Fu Xian Zhai Exlibris Society.

Introduction of Shanghai Fu Xian Zhai

Shanghai Fu Xian Zhai Exlibris Society was founded in 1997. It is a professional institution of collection, creation and research of exlibris. During these years, we cherish and persist in developing exlibris in China. Under the support of artists, collectors and some other social organizations, exlibirs has been growing up and begin to be popular among more and more people.
At present, we have a formal exhibition hall and an independent website (www.fuxianzhai.com) as well. It is more important that we have cultivated a considerable number of collectors and exlibris lovers. Our goal is to commit ourselves to exlibris’ propagation, introduce exlibris culture and knowledge to amateur, readers and common people in order to improve their artistical accomplishment on the purpose of sharing a mentally rich and delighted life for the public.
Publications:
1. The first edition of the newspaper of “the friend of exlibris” was published by Shanghai Fu Xian Zhai Exlibris Society on 1 Jan 1999. The newspaper published six editions every year. Up to 2006, 48 editions had been published and together with 2 supplement editions.
2. Shanghai Fu Xian Zhai Exlibris Society begun to publish the quarterly magazine of “the friend of exlibris” from 1st Jan 2007. From then on, we have published 12 editions of magazines. This magazine is still being published now.

3. Shanghai Fu Xian Zhai Exlibris Society held a personal exlibris exhibition for a Polish artist, Mr. Krzysztof Kmiec on March 2002 in Shanghai. And we published the book of “Krzysztof Kmiec– Selected Exlibris Works”.

4. On May 2009, Shanghai Fu Xian Zhai Exlibris Society published the book of “Yang Han’s Exlibris Works” for Mr. Yang Han who is one of the most famous print artists of shanghai.

5. We published the book of “Exlibris Collection of Martin R. Baeyens” for the Belgian artist on Nov 2009. 1000 copies have been published.

6. We published the book of “Exlibris Collection of Frank Ivo Van Damme” for the Belgian artist on Nov 2009. 1000 copies have been published.

Exhibitions and Social Activities:
Shanghai Fu Xian Zhai Exlibris Museum was founded by the chairman of Shanghai Fu Xian Zhai Exlibris Society, Mr. Wang Rong, on 16 Oct 1999. The museum also acts as an art education centre for students. It was located in Fisheries College (Address: No. 453, Minxing Road, Yangpu District, Shanghai, China). The museum hall took nearly 100 square meters which show the exlibris and prints words to public for free.
The museum address changed to Room 204, No.4 Pingliang Road, Yangpu District, Shanghai, China on Oct 2003.
After several years’ development, the museum transferred to Innovation Union which has an exhibition hall of 180 square meters on March 2007. (Address: Room C10, second floor. No 1055, Pingliang Road, Yangpu District, Shanghai, China. Free for public).

Since the opening of Fu Xian Zhai exlibris museum, we have held more than 70 exhibitions, which has obtained more than 100,000 person-times’ visit. It causes an enormous influence to the propaganda and development of exlibris.
Here is some great exhibitions’ information listed below:

1. On 16th Oct 1999, we showed 400 kinds of exlibris which were selected from more than 2,000 works all over the world for our first exhibition. Most of them are the prize-winning works, special works with high collection value. Their technique includes woodcut, etching, lithography, paper printing, screen printing, CGD, etc.

2. On 10th June 2000, a congress named as “Exlibris Expo” was held by Fu Xian Zhai Exlibris Society and Huayang street community of Changning District, Shanghai. The congress showed exlibris works from more than 100 exlibris artists, which includes many very famous artists such as Mr. Yang Keyang, Mr. Zhao Yannian, Mr. Yang Han, Mr. Li Pingfan etc. At the same time, a personal collection show of our collector Mr. Ge Feng was held, too. This collection show was named as “the Poem of Peoples’ Republic of China” which showed many precious stamps and exlibris. Besides, some data about exlibris from “Tai Wan Colored Painting Book Garden” was demonstrated to visitors. There were also many interesting activities in the congress as well. Local TV station reported this congress.

3. The opening ceremony of the first Fu Xian Zhai Foreign Exlibris Exhibition was held in Nov 2000. Through the report of newspaper, the number of visitor reached nearly 1000 person-times within one month.
4. On 23rd Sept 2001, the personal exhibition of “Print and Exlibris Works Show of Chinese artist, Mr. Xu Hongxing” was held by Fu Xian Zhai.

5. On 16th March 2002, the personal exhibition for Poland artist, Mr. Krzysztof Kmiec, was held by Fu Xian Zhai. The Consul General of Poland in Shanghai attended, and gave us very positive comments.

6. In Oct 2002, Fu Xian Zhai held the “Golden Autumn Print and Exlibris Exhibition” which included works of Chinese artists, Mr. Yang Keyang, Mr. Zhao Yannian, Ms.Shao Keping, Mr. Yang Han, Mr. Mao Huaisu, Mr. Hao boyi, Mr. Lu Fang, Mr. Ding Lisong, etc.

7. From 13th to 15th in Nov 2002, Fu Xian Zhai held the “Excellent Chinese and Foreign Exlibris Works Exhibition” in the library of Shanghai Maritime University. During the exhibition time, we also offered lecture to share the knowledge of exlibris.

8. In May 2004, Shanghai Quyang Cultural Arts Center showed 100 exlibris works of famous artists. These 100 exlibris works was provided by Fu Xian Zhai Museum.

9. In Oct 2004, the 5th anniversary ceremony of Fu Xian Zhai was held in Shanghai. We showed the exlibris of elder artists and published “Fu Xian Zhai 5th Anniversary Exlibris Collections”.

10. In May 2005, the personal exlibris exhibition of Chinese artist, Mr. Zhang Fengquan and the exhibition of famous collertors’ print works were held by Fu Xian Zhai and Lu Xun Museum.

11. In Nov 2005, a part of “11th National Exlibris Exhibition” was held in Fu Xian Zhai Museum, which showed 250 works from 100 artists.

12. In May 2006, the exhibition of small print works was held by Fu Xian Zhai, which 100 print works were shown to public.

13. In Sept 2006, the exhibition of “Excellent Foreign Exlibris Works” was held by Fu Xian Zhai.

14. In 14th April 2007, Shanghai Fu Xian Zhai Museum transferred to Innovation Union which owns an exhibition hall of 180 square meters. On that day, we held the exhibition of “Excellent Foreign and Chinese Exlibris Works” which lasted to 15th May.

15. From 27th May to 7th June in 2007, the exhibition of “Exlibris and Print works of Chinese artist, Mr. Wang Jinxu” was held by Fu Xian Zhai.

16. From 9th June to 1st July in 2007, the exhibition of “Exlibris works of Netherlands artist, Mr. Peter Lazarov” was held by Fu Xian Zhai.

17. From 8th July to 1st Sept in 2007, the exhibition of “Exlibris works of Chinese artist, Mr. Hao Boyi” was held by Fu Xian Zhai.

18. From 8th Sept to 15th Oct in 2007, the exhibition of “Exlibris works of Czech artist, Mr. Pavel Hlavaty” was held by Fu Xian Zhai.

19. From 27th Oct to 26th Nov in 2007, the exhibition for “2007 the first Fu Xian Zhai Exlibris International Invitation Competition” was held by Fu Xian Zhai. Hundreds of artists from different countries took part in the contest.

20. From 8th Dec to 30th Dec in 2007, the exhibition of “Exlibris works of Chinese artist, Mr. Mo Ce” was held by Fu Xian Zhai.

21. From 13th Jan to 3rd Feb in 2008, the exhibition of “Exlibris works of Chinese artist, Mr. Yang Keyang” was held by Fu Xian Zhai.

22. From 8th March to 2nd April in 2008, the exhibition for 6 foreign astists was held by Fu Xian Zhai. These 6 artists are Mr. Jiri Brazda from Czech, Mr. Evgeny Bortnikov and Vladimir Vereschagin from Russia, Mr. Hristo Naidenov and Mr. Robert Baramov from Bulgaria and Mr. David Bekker from Ukraine.

23. From 13th April to 12th May in 2008, the exhibition for a hundred of works of Chinese and Foreign astists was held by Fu Xian Zhai. At the same time, we held a charity auction for the students who have economic difficulty. 2230 RMB was raised.

24. From 14th June to 30th June in 2008, the exhibition of “Exlibris works of Chinese artist, Mr. Yang Han” was held by Fu Xian Zhai.

25. From 13thJuly to 20th Auguest in 2008, the exhibition for 6 foreign astists was held by Fu Xian Zhai. These 6 artists are Mr. Jiri Brazda from Czech, Mr. Gouzeniouk Victor from Russia, Mr. Frank-Ivo van Damme from Belgium, Mr. Jeni Katelieva from Bulgaria, Mr. Hamanishi Katsunori from Japan and Miss Natalija Cernetsova from Latvia.

26. From 19th Oct to 24th Nov in 2008, the exhibition for “2008 the second Fu Xian Zhai Exlibris International Invitation Competition” was held by Fu Xian Zhai. Compared to the 1st contest, the number of artists form many different countries took part in the contest increased.

27. From 13th Dec to 30th Dec in 2008, the exhibition for 6 Chinese artists was held by Fu Xian Zhai. These 6 artists are Mr. Qu Anjun, Mr. Zhou dongshen, Mr. Wang Weide, Mr. Yang Yilei and Mrs. Xiong Aiyi.

28. From 14th March to 5th April in 2009, the exhibition of “Exlibris works of Chinese artist, Mr. Yi Yang” was held by Fu Xian Zhai.

29. On 15th April 2009, organization held lecture “exlibris exhibition and lecture” in Jian Qiao College.

30. From 12th April to 3rd May in 2009, the exhibition of “Exlibris works of Germany artist, Mr. Josef Werner” was held by Fu Xian Zhai.

31. From 10th May to 1st June in 2009, the exhibition of “Exlibris works of Ukraine artist, Mr. Ruslan Agirba” was held by Fu Xian Zhai. At the same time, we held another charity auction for the students who have economic difficulty. 1000 RMB was raised.

32. From 13th June to 30th June in 2009, the exhibition of “Exlibris works of Czech artist, Mr. Martin Manojlin” was held by Fu Xian Zhai.

33. From 12th July to 30th July in 2009, the exhibition of “Exlibris works of Belarus artist, Mr. Juri Jakovenko” was held by Fu Xian Zhai.

34. From 8th Aug to 30th Aug in 2009, the exhibition of “Exlibris works of Ukraine artist, Mr. Kalinovich Konstantin” was held by Fu Xian Zhai.

35. From 12th Sept to 22nd Sept in 2009, the exhibition of “Exlibris works of Ukraine artist, Mr. Sergey Hrapov and American artist Mr. Serik Kulmeshkenov” was held by Fu Xian Zhai.

36. From 17th Oct to 11th Nov in 2009, the exhibition for “2009 the 3rd Fu Xian Zhai Exlibris International Invitation Competition” was held by Fu Xian Zhai. Hundreds of artists all over the world took part in the contest.

37. From 9th to 13th Nov 2009, “Excellent Oversea Exlibris Works Show” was held by Fu Xian Zhai and Fine Art School of Shanghai University in Shanghai University Fine Art School exhibition hall.

38. From 14th to 18th Nov 2009, the personal exhibition for Mr. Martin R. Baeyens and Mr. Frank-Ivo van Damme from Belgium was held by Fu Xian Zhai and Lu Xun Museun in Ben Liu exhibition hall of Lu Xu Museum. Mr. Martin R. Baeyens presented. He signed and sold his books on the exhibition.

39. From 21th Nov to 13th Dec in 2009, the exhibition of “Exlibris works of Ukraine artist, Mr. Sergey Kirnitskiy” was held by Fu Xian Zhai.

40. From 20th Dec in 2009 to 10th Jan in 2010, the exhibition of “Exlibris works of Chinese artist, Mr. Cui Zhengzhi” was held by Fu Xian Zhai.

41. From 17th Jan to 6th Feb in 2010, the exhibition of “Exlibris works of Slovakia artist Mr. Augustovic Peter” was held by Fu Xian Zhai.

Ex-Libris d'un collectionneur auvergnat
Bonne surprise lors d’un récent achat d’un lot d’ouvrages de la collection « Le Livre Moderne Illustré » auprès de la bibliothèque municipale de Billom (Puy-de-Dôme) qui renouvelait son stock !
Les cinq exemplaires appartenaient à Jeanne Thevenoux, selon une inscription manuscrite portée sur chacune des pages de garde. En collationnant le n°178, intitulé « La Pierre d’Horeb », roman de Georges Duhamel illustré par Clément Serveau, je découvre avec intérêt et plaisir l’ajout d’un ex-libris.
Imprimé sur la page de garde, un papier Outhenin Chalandre, il est gravé sur bois dans un format de 60*45mm.
Le bois gravé porte une inscription en majuscule « J THEVENOUX », au dessous une femme nue de dos et de trois-quarts, agenouillée, se tenant la tête dans sa main droite, devant un tronc d’arbre. L’inscription est d’une hauteur de 9mm. Le bois est non signé.
